1) Please tell something about your organization, key achievements and benefits you provide to global hoteliers?
Ultra Green, Inc. is a privately-held company selling eco-friendly paper products made from sugarcane fibers and bioplastic products made from corn starch. We were founded in 2007 and are located in Plymouth, MN. We live online at www.ultragreenhome.com.
We’re a company built by three men with decades of business success. We thought it was time for us to give back in a positive, constructive way and decided on a green business, but not any green business. Our goal is to develop fully sustainable, biodegradable, compostable products and to do so in a way that will expand the rapidly-developing green marketplace. Our goal is to completely replace the paper, plastic, & Styrofoam products out there. By doing this, we are reducing energy consumption, water pollution, air pollution, and waste going to landfills and incinerator. We have less impact on global warming.
We have a retail line of high-quality paper plates, platters, and bowls, napkins, facial and toilet tissues, bioplastic cups and utensils sold through natural foods and grocery stores. In February we introduced its patented TreeSaver™ line of food service products designed to replace plastic containers in the take out and take n bake category. These products will also replace plastic and aluminum bake ware in the bakery section of grocery stores.
2) How has the economy downturn affected your business? What steps have your taken to help hoteliers in this economy? Any special deal, discount, or offer?
The green market is niche, those that want premium products are willing to pay for them. Ultra Green’s prices have stayed very competitive with the plastic packaging out there; therefore, the state of the economy has not been an issue.
3) What do you see as the future of Hotel industry? What major trends will impact hotel business in coming 20 years?
I’m certain that becoming a green establishment will be a focus of hotels not only in the future but also immediately. There is a large push from consumers to give business to the establishments proving to be environmentally conscious. Conforming to the new standard of using green products and energy sources will continue on an upswing driven by consumer demand. Instead of pretending to be green, your hotel can tell a real story based on the products you are using. In 20 years, it is likely that paper and plastic products will be taxed at an even higher rate if not outlawed.
4) What benefits and key advantages you offer over competition? Why should over readers consider doing business with you?
The market leader in Green paper products are recycled paper products which are priced higher than Ultra Green products and are of lesser quality. Contrary, we take a product (sugarcane fiber) that was historically burned or discarded after the sugar was squeezed out and make a wide range of products. Ultra Green differentiates our selves by designing unique and proprietary food service products that you can bake in. Our products are not only microwaveable but also ovenable up to 425 degrees. No trees are cut down to make a single plate. The reaction from consumers has been fantastic which gives our story and brand validity.
As an added benefit, Ultra Green is a complete one stop shop for hotels’ disposable product needs. Instead of going to many vendors, one can shop Ultra Green for products including toilet tissue, facial tissue, plate, bowls, straws, cups, etc.
5) Do you provide E-commerce or online payment facility? Can our readers book your products or services online?
