Best Western Hotels & Resorts is in the mood the celebrate. The cause is the great success it has achieved in Asia in 2018. The company worked throughout the year to expand its footprint in some of the continents most important markets, including Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Japan.

In all, there are now over 5,000 Best Western rooms in Japan and Southeast Asia, spread over at least 56 hotels and resorts. Nearly 40 more properties are in the pipeline for Asia, bringing the total to more than 6,800 rooms branded with 7 of the company’s 13 popular brands.

In Indonesia, for example, the company recently opened Best Western Senayan Hotel in Jakarta and Best Western Kindai Hotel in Banjarmasin, both key cities in emerging markets that the company hopes will provide it a strategic advantage in the area.

In Japan, Best Western Plus Hotel Fino Chitose and Best Western Hotel Fino Tokyo Akihabara celebrated their grand openings in 2018. With the 2020 Summer Olympics coming to Japan, the investment in this area seems sound and sensible.

Agreements have been signed for new properties in Vietnam which will open in 2020. These Best Western Premier and Best Western Plus properties will bring over 2,200 rooms to the rapidly emerging markets in the nation’s growing international tourist destination.

In the second quarter of 2019, properties are scheduled to open in the Philippines. In Thailand, new properties are on track to open within the next two years.
In 2019, the company plans to open Vīb Sanampao in Bangkok, Asia’s first property of that brand. Japan will gain SureStay Plus by Best Western Shin-Osaka – and those are just a few of the several properties schedule to be added to the Best Western collection in Asia very soon.
