Our organization, THE ODYSSEY REGALIA” is an enterprise of a senior Indian Army Officer, established in the year 1990, with the sole aim of giving exposure of the Legendary Indian Hospitality to the World, coupled with the expertise, experience and the courtesies expected of an ex-Indian Army Officer’s organization. We endeavour to make your visit to India a memorable

one, be it in the lap of nature on the mighty Himalayan Ranges, the Holy rivers Ganges and the Yamuna, the endless Golden Sand dunes of Rajasthan, the beaches of Goa and the Lakshadweep or be it in the typical Indian country side which beholds the flora and fauna in all its glory. 3) How has economy downturn affected your business? What steps you are doing to help hoteliers in this economy? Any special deal, discount, offer.

The down turn in economy has surely affected our business adversely but that has not affected our will power. However, it must be understood that situation in India is different as compared to other countries. Here we only can offer larger influx of tourists to the Hoteliers but so far as discounts are concerned, it is the Hoteliers who have to offer discounts to us, to ensure some flow of tourists to the Hotels to make it attractive to them.

Tourist organizations and Hoteliers are a two way traffic … To run it smoothly, both have to consider pros and cons of economy. The economy downtrend has adversely affected the ENTIRE WORLD. Thus, whereas the purchasing power and availability of money power to the foreigners may have been affected, the same is equally true for the Indian scene also. Therefore, if the foreigners have been brought down to spend less; Hoteliers cannot EXPECT more money by way of tariff. Same way, in such a scenario, we, as tourist operators/Travel Agents also have to appreciate and act as intermediaries and the most prominent link between the Tourists and the Hoteliers to effect a balancing act so that while the Hoteliers do not lose, the Tourists get the best value for their money.

The Hoteliers have to understand the economic trends and settings. It is better to sell the Hotel rooms slightly cheaper, so that room occupancy increases. It is better to have the hotel rooms packed to full capacity even at 75% of the normal rates rather than have 40 to 60 percent occupancy at normal, high rates. Because with vacant rooms or fully occupied rooms, cost of maintenance will almost be the same but with increased occupancy or full occupancy, income will surely be much more.

Special deals can be envisaged only during the blooming economy.

Inspite of the situation all over the World, it is a silver lining that Indian economy seems to be comparatively buoyant.

4) Do you any online website section specifically for Hoteliers? Can NRI post their requirements, comments, complaints and grievances online?

Regarding our achievements, or our good satisfactory services and any other good point noted by the NRIs and others we may not want them to record the same on our website as much as we wish that they tell their good experiences about our services, our courtesies, our methodology, our innovative dealings to their friends and relatives

5) What do you see as the future of Hotel industry? What major trends will impact hotel business in coming 20 years?

The future of the Hotel Industry in India at least is very bright. It is a known fact that small countries like Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia are doing roaring business due to many factors and the business of any one country is far larger than the whole of India. India has a potential to lure 100% more tourists in the coming 5 years. 20 years is too long a period. If proper thought process is put into action, the tourist industry in India will rise to great heights and so will the business of the Hoteliers.

The following major trends will impact the Hotel business in the coming 20 years :

(a) Boost to economy and economic stability in the whole World.

(b) Better, economical and efficient services in the Hotels in India.

(c) Creating an awareness in the World of the vast potential of India’s heritage, its rich ancient heritage and glorious monuments.

(d) An image of the Hotels to be created realistically all over.

(e) We have already planned in innovative ways to boost IN-bound tourism to India as well as OUT-bound tourism to foreign countries Our program is in almost final stages of coordination before it is implemented.
