During these difficult economic times,
we recognize that our clients are focused on
value and expanded services. HSI has taken this
opportunity to bring additional value to our
clients in several ways.
First is introducing the Pantry Shoppe POS,
a Point of Sale software application and barcode
scanner that operates on a front desk terminal
. It is an affordable system and helps our clients
increase their profits by accounting for every
item in their gift shops, pantries, or sundry
markets and ensuring these items are generating
revenue. Before releasing Pantry Shoppe POS,
we found that about half of all purchases in
these outlets are paid with cash, presenting
an opportunity for product shrinkage and loss
of revenue. After installing Pantry Shoppe POS,
our test properties saw an average of more than
a 50% increase in gift shop revenues per occupied
room. To make it easier for our clients, we
have partnered with Lease Corporation of American
and are able to offer special lease deals as
low as $99 per month to make Pantry Shoppe POS
even more affordable.
In addition to Pantry Shoppe POS, HSI is accelerating
development on our Next Generation POS. Our
new product is completely scalable and will
offer our clients an amazing architecture designed
to operate on non-server grade hardware resulting
in major cost savings for our clients as well
as increased security for payment cards and
third-party applications.
HSI has also increased ancillary products that
expand the functionality of the Profit Series
Point of Sale system. In January, we released
Profit Series Mobile – the mobile version of
Profit Series POS that operates on an Apple
iPod touch, making it the most affordable POS
handheld device in the market today. Other products
such as myhsi.net offer web-based reporting
tools available in enterprise and entrepreneur
versions; Internet Ordering enables our clients
another revenue stream and is also available
for use as In-Room Ordering; and myInventory
provides cumulative, daily, and ad hoc reporting
related to ordering, receiving, waste, inventory
counts, and more.
Lastly, we are increasing our service offerings
with the addition of Remote Training, Network
Cabling and Repair service, and Remote Alert
Detection and Reporting (RADAR) a system monitoring
service that. Each of these services is affordably
priced and offers a great deal of value to our
clients by saving them time and money. Remote
Training is an affordable alternative to traditional
onsite training. Each class is completely customized
based on client needs and delivered through
a collaborative online Webinar at a fraction
of the cost. Network Cabling and Repair services
can save hours of troubleshooting over the phone
by bringing a technician onsite to physically
install or replace cabling or repair damaged
cabling. RADAR reduces the need for technical
support and troubleshooting by monitoring the
network and alerting the client when a potential
problem arises, enabling them to take action
before it becomes an issue requiring support.

More integration of social technologies such
as handheld or in-room applications that provide
Augmented Reality tours of the facilities and
services available to the guests, combined with
the ability for guests to leave and browse comments
and suggestions interactively, or order services
(I.E. spa or meals) from within the same applications.
